Application profiles
Application profiles specify virtual devices, which can be implemented in one or more physical field devices. This means, the application profile is a network approach, which allows pre-defined PDO cross communication between virtual devices.
The following generic device profiles have been developed:
- EN TS 13149 series (formerly CiA 407): CANopen-based passenger information system for public transportation road vehicles
- CiA 415 series: CANopen application profile for sensor systems in road-construction and earth-moving machines
- CiA 416 series: CANopen application profile for building door control
- CiA 417 series: CANopen application profile for lift control systems
- CiA 421 series: CANopen application profile for train vehicle control systems
- CiA 422 series: CANopen application profile for refuse collecting vehicles
- CiA 423 series: CANopen application profile for rail vehicle power drive systems
- CiA 424 series: CANopen application profile for rail vehicle door control systems
- CiA 426 series: CANopen application profile for rail vehicle exterior lighting control
