CiA Business Committee

The CiA Business Committee (BC) chaired by the CiA Business Director comprises elected members Emotas, ESD, Microcontol, Robert Bosch, Vector, and representatives of established marketing groups (MG). It manages and decides on commercial and financial issues, including the preparation of a budget proposal to be ratified by the CiA General Assembly.

MG02 CANopen Lift

The MG02 CANopen Lift provides basic information about CANopen Lift on CiA’s website. Members of the group discuss and decide on marketing activities related to CANopen Lift. These activities have included new brochures, special issues of the CAN Newsletter magazine focusing on CANopen Lift, and exhibition stands at relevant trade shows. One of the most important activities of the MG02 CANopen Lift is to coordinate joint marketing activities with regard to the bi-annual Interlift trade show, where the group showcases the latest developments in CANopen Lift applications. Currently, the MG is in a dormant state. If you are interested in initiating new joint marketing activities regarding CANopen Lift, please contact the CiA office at marketing@can-cia.org.

MG03 CAN XL

The MG03 CAN XL schedules joint marketing activities related to CAN XL. This includes CiA promoting events, publications in printed and social media including videos. The group organizes CAN XL plugfests on demand. Additionally, it provides content for CiA’s CAN XL website.

MG05 CANopen CC/FD

The MG05 CANopen CC/FD coordinates joint marketing activities related to CANopen among CiA members. This encompasses all "CANopen flavors," such as CANopen CC and CANopen FD. Members of the MG discuss and decide on these marketing activities. These activities include organizing CiA technology days (info events), creating brochures that summarize the benefits of using CANopen, submitting application examples (success stories) for CiA publications (such as the CAN Newsletter) or third-party publications, and evaluating CiA's presence at relevant trade shows and conferences. Additionally, the MG may coordinate the development of joint demonstrators to be exhibited by CiA at relevant trade shows.
