CiA governing bodies

The nonprofit CiA (CAN in Automation) international users’ and manufacturers’ group has the following governing bodies.
 

CiA General Assembly

The CiA General Assembly (GA) is the highest governing body of the CiA association. In the annually scheduled regular meeting, the GA elects the CiA Board of Directors and the permanent members of the CiA Technical Committee (TC) and the CiA Business Committee (BC). Additionally, it decides on the annual budget proposed by the BC.

CiA Board of Directors

The CiA Board of Directors (BoD) comprises the CiA Technical Director, the CiA Business Director, and the CiA Managing Director. The BoD is the highest governing body between the GA meetings.

CiA Business Committee

The CiA Business Committee (BC) chaired by the CiA Business Director comprises elected members Emotas, ESD, Microcontol, Murata, Vector, and representatives of established marketing groups (MG). It manages and decides on commercial and financial issues, including the preparation of a budget proposal to be ratified by the CiA General Assembly.

CiA Technical Committee

The CiA Technical Committee chaired by the CiA Technical Director comprises elected members Emotas, ESD, Kvaser, Microcontol, Murata, and Vector, and representatives of established interest groups (IG). It manages the development, the release, and the maintenance of CiA technical documents.
