The Embedded World tradeshow is an important event for the CAN community not only in respect to lower layers, but also to CANopen, the standardized higher-layer protocol for embedded control networks. CANopen FD is the next topic on the agenda; with CAN SIC transceivers, bit rates up to 8 Mbit/s are possible.
