The author, Matthias Rausch, describes Automotive Ethernet, the three CAN generations, Flexray, and LIN in its book enriched with many figures and tables. He has divided the book into two parts. In the first part, the author explains the general functionality of CAN, LIN, and Flexray. This part is intended for readers, who like to get a general understanding of these three communication systems. In the second part, the author explains in more detail CAN, LIN as well as Flexray, and introduces Automotive Ethernet. Regarding CAN, he covers in the second part also the CAN FD and the CAN XL protocols. The book also includes information about the CAN SIC and CAN SIC XL physical medium attachments.
